anyone any experience of these guitars, I heard they can be a bit bright, are they a good match with mesa amps? I mostly use les pauls currently and kinda like that type of tone.

I have a custom 24 ten top and it is my best sounding guitar through my mesa amp. The stock pickups on those guitars (HFS bridge/Vintage bass Neck) are great. The HFS is a amazing pickup, great mids, good lows and highs and HOT!!! The vintage bass is a good pickup that is very warm. As far as brightness its not brighter than my les paul.

We just came out of 10 years or so of a heavy music scene dominated by PRS guitars.

Depending on your taste that could be a good th ing or a bad thing.

thanks, I can't decide of the longer scale would be an issue for me compared to lesters, I felt slightly out of position last time I tried one.

It doesn't feel awkward for me going from my les paul to the prs. But since the Prs has a longer scale it has a little bit more of a stiffer feel than the les paul, but easier to get up high. I love them both!!! They are both flamed maple tops and made out of mahogany with rosewood and they are still completely different beasts. I keep trying to decide which one i like better and i cant pick, I really cant. My prs also has a tremolo compared to the stoptail of the les paul and i still dont have any problem switching. They are both so easy to play. My third guitar is a gibson explorer pro with emg's. That used to be my main guitar, but since i got my les paul and the prs i dont enjoy playing it. Im going to trade it in soon. My next guitar is going to be a PRS single cut. I use to be the biggest emg fanboy around, I had emg's in my les paul and my explorer pro, once i got my prs and played through my amp and heard the way it sounded I yanked the emg's right out of my les paul and went with a dimarzio drop sonic in the bridge and the stock burstbucker in the neck and it sounds so open and big.
