Last week, I was lucky enough to have a quick "private" tour of the Mesa Boogie factory in Petaluma California.

To make a long story short, I was in San Francisco in vacation. On Wednesday, we rented a car and visited the Napa valley. On our drive back to the hotel, I told my wife I wanted to get a quick pic of myself in front of the Mesa factory as Petaluma was a city we would be crossing.

To my surprise, I got more than a quick pic in front of the factory!!!

Even, if it was passed 6pm, Tien Lawrence, a product specialist (and an awesome person) was still in there and he offered me and my wife a tour around the factory. For like 50 minutes, we started from the prototyping phase to how the cabs are built, quality-control and packaging/shipping...

Sorry for the blurry pics, my wife still have to learn how to use the new digital cam.

Before I get asked that question, I did not try the new mini Rectifier! Damn I wish I could have!

And I was so surprised (flabbergasted would fit even more) that I forgot to ask all the questions I had regarding Mesa Boogie products. I felt like a kid in a candy store.

Just to let you know, I got (while doing the factory tour) the approval from the wife to order a mini Recto! So I will proceed with that case of GAS in the coming days!

Here are a the pics:

Thanks again to Tien for the awesome visit, his personal time and patience with our "french canadien" english accent. I had a blast being rigth there in the middle of all those Mesa Boogie amps and cabs!

I was fortunate enough to take almost that same tour last year with my band during the day. They are so awesome over there. Great pics man! Brings back great memories of the place.

Thats great to see the inside of Mesa, thanks for sharing those pics. I loved the stack of unloaded speaker cabs 8)

I believe it was Tim Lawrence who returned my call when I asked about shipping to APO. If he was the same guy, then he was definitely a cool guy. Very helpful.

 Awesome....those guy's are great. nice to deal with real people. I have had to warrantee a FS cable and a handle for my V call, it's in the mail. Thats service....

that was fun, thanks for sharing these pics of the factory. I'm guessing that the quilted maple shell was reserved for Timmons?

Good observation! I was told at the moment of the visit that the pic had no link to the cab. It was just there as the guy at that station is a fan and also that Tim has been a Mesa player for a long time.
