I just picked up a very cheap 2:90 power amp with all new tubes! It's a US model so I will need to use a stepdown transformer here in Australia, I was hoping somebody could tell me how many watts these things use so I can work out whether I need a more powerful stepdown transformer than the one I have. I'm talking about the power consumption, not the power output (just in case somebody decides to tell me that it's 180W because it's 2 x 90!) I'm assuming it will be printed on the back plate of the amp somewhere.

Thanks :D

Power consumption can't be more (except for some very short time) than the voltage multiplied with the maximum current of the fuse (230V x 4A = 920 W for european models).

When I asked Mesa for my 50/50 power consumption they reply 360W max.
