The only two hardwood Slant 4x12 cabs Boogie ever made. I love them!


I have never gigged with it at full power. IT is crushing at that volume. I use it on the half power setting and with the Post Efx level I can tame it pretty well.

No - they were made at MESA for me. They don't make 4x12 slants in hardwood. this was a super rare custom.

My RK is on a Gruven Amp stand. Really nice. Folds flat for storage...and can support that heavy beast of a combo. Also very "lo-pro" and unobtrusive on stage, as you can see.... go to:

After I had the Ace for about a month, I decided I needed more sound, I called mesa and they suggested the Horz Recto over any other cab for the ace. Even a 4x12, he said this would add the most bottom.

It sounds absolutely KILLER!!!

New to this board. Here's my T-Verb. Started w/ the combo (the cabinet is to the left), but decided I wanted a 1/2 stack so I ordered the empty head shelf and 4x12 cab. Custom grill of course!

no, his chassis was in a combo, which like all other combos, has the tubes facing in the downward direction, and in order to mount the chassis in a head box, he had to flip it upside down, so that the tubes are positioned upright.
Here's an example of an F 50 combo, tubes upside down.

I'm just curious, dap9, how hard was it getting used to having everything upside down and backwards from what you were used to while using it as a combo?

Man, I'm still not used to it and it's been a year! It must be a site watching me b/c I'm constantlly turning my head trying to see it. I bought the combo new back in '94, so that's a lot of years seeing it the "right" way. It's not that bad, though. I asked the MESA rep if I could get a custom faceplate, but unfortunately he said they couldn't do it.

Anyone have pointers on how I can resize that image yet via HTML code? Thanks!
