Pretty basic setup here. Saving up for a Les Paul Custom Silverburst to replace that MIM Strat

The Pedals. Fulltone OCD (V4 if I remember correctly) and a Dunlop Classic Crybaby.

Wishlist/GAS List/Upcoming Gear List:
- Les Paul Custom Silverburst
- Boss BF-2 (Yes, I am such a fucking fanboy). Being shipped to me as we speak.
- Boss DD-3, also being obtained rather soon, as my friend no longer uses his (win)
- Diezel VH4. HA! Maybe in the future. I wish I had this much cash laying around to spend. I would in an instant if I could.

HEY, WHERE'S THE BOOGIE?!!

Wishlist for sure too! Haha

If its any consolation, I convinced my friend to get a Mark V and I pretty much play it everyday

The idea for this rig was for it to be as versatile as possible. I play a lot of cleans with effects, but sometimes I need that face ripping gain. I am never completely satisfied with an amp unless I can get that!! 8). I have the Boss running stereo for clean effects (NO preamp modeling) to the Mesa clean/orange channel via the loop and to the Peavey guitar input. Luckily, the Boss has an amp switcher function, which I use to switch to the hi gain/red channel. I rarely, if ever, use effects on distortion outside of boost and wah.

On cleans, I am utilizing both the Mesa 4x12 closed back cab and the "custom" 2x12 open back cab, which is a Line 6 Flextone III combo that was cut down and converted. The combination of the closed 4x12 and open 2x12 is nothing short of amazing!!! I cannot begin to describe the tone; it wouldn't do it justice.

When I switch to the distortion side, the Peavey/2x12 cab become disabled and the Mesa monster takes over. I get the full roar of the beast without sacrificing the tone by using effects. I usually use the Modern Hi Gain setting, but lately I have been wanting to use the Blues setting with an OD/Boost in front of it. It is certainly nice to have that option!

Hey Roadifier, how's the Peavey ultra plus sound compared to the 5150 or 6505? I never got the chance to demo one

It is WAY darker than a 5150 (the rock master preamp is basically the same as a 5150's preamp) But overall the Ultra plus sounds really good, It is a very tight amp,has lots of gain on tap and has a built in gain boost, and has more than enough bass for metal chugging. it has nice focused mids, but over all an A+ amp for the money, I got it for 300 and the matching Cabinet was 150. I can do a A/B between the two if you wanted to hear them side by side.

Awesome, I always had a good feeling about that amp even though I couldn't find good clips of the amp in action. That would be awesome if you do a A/B clip of them in action, very much appreciated good sir :D

My brother has an Ultra. Kind of sounds like a 5150 but smoother. Great amp for the money and would be an awesome backup for a recto or 5150.

This would be my touring rig... It ROCKS! Not that big anymore (used to have a TriAxis multirack wet/dry setup), but I can get almost any sound I want from it. Everything from chimey jazz clean, to warm overdive to rockin SRV tone to awesome rock, and screaming Marshall tone! Everything is there. If I play a larger venue, I would only add a couple of MESA 2X12 rectifier cabs, but only the 2X12 combo goes a LONG way!
Last but not least there is my Marshall rig. I use it mainly in rehearsal, as the Mesa rig has almost made it obsolete...

That's a lot of toobz.

And I like that PRS. Normally I'm not into them but that one's not ridiculously pretty like most of the ones I see. It's like it's the anti-PRS.

Yeah man i gotta agree with you, it was not ridiculously expensive, and all the crazy nice looking ones are.
This one is a satin finish from 2006 and almost has that expensive look to it with how cool the grain is. I really like it.
Never thought i would have a PRS already. Might need to get well Educated in the PRS pickups tho. The neck one is super bassy unless i roll back the Vol.
