First of all hello Boogie Board, first post and all that.......

My Tri Axis blew its plug fuse the other night at a gig, (i can only sumise that it blew when turning the unit off after sound check). On changing the fuse i was supprised to see it was rated at 13A and the actual plug itself has 13A on it as well, is this correct? The manual says that the power consumption/requirements are only 30W and i'd have thought a 5 or even 3A fuse would suffice. The 2:90 is also fused at 13A at the plug. Are they both fused like this from the factory?

Thanks in advance for any help

Paul

Are you sure that the rating of the fuse you pulled out off your Triaxis is 13A? Mine is 3A and of course this is written in the manual and at the rear panel as well.. I would bet $10 that somehow the "1" in front of the "3" could be a scratch on the fuse's surface, so "well-positioned" that somehow looks like a "13".. On the other hand, you told us that this was the rating of your power amp's fuse too.. I would buy a 3A fuse since this is the logical amperage for this type of machinery and for extra safety too..

Thanks for the reply faser

Yes it definately was a 13A (which is kinda worrying), the plug itself states its fitted with a 13A also but as i'm not the original owner i can't say for certain the plug has been changed (although it is a moulded one). I can't find anywhere in the manual or on the unit what plug fusage is recommended, the manual does state the power requirement of 30w though.

If yours as a 3A in its plug then I'm gonna swap out the 13A for a 3A and see how it goes. Would you say i should swap out the 2:90s for a 3A as well?

I'm gonna check my Triaxis' plug again and let you know.. I'm not at home to tell you for sure, but I think that there is a written indication of the fuse amperage on the left side of the rear panel.. Anyway, I'm going to have a look.. As far as the 2:90 is concerned, I'm afraid I can't help you since I'm an owner of a 2:50 (also equipped with a 3A fuse).. If I were you, I would contact Mesa about the 2:90..
