Hi all,

New to the board, cool resource!

I just picked up a great 'little' amp, a 1981 Mark IIB. It's 60 watt (2 6L6s) with graphic eq, reverb, original EVM 12L speaker, and the Mike B. effect loop mod (Dyno Label = PSTFXLVL). Included a padded Mesa cover and original paperwork. Also, as a factory option, the dual footswitch is wired for Gain Boost and EQ (versus reverb and EQ). Very handy feature!

I'm blown away by the sounds from this machine. It is so loud, and so heavy (62lbs). The thing is, with the Effect Loop mod, the rear knob acts like the Output knob on a Mark IV, and I can get killer tones at bedroom levels. No worries about compromising/balancing between Rhythm/Lead - this knob cures all of those issues. The reverb sounds amazing, as do the lead tones. Probably has a lot to do with the mod.

Cheers

Nice score! The Marks are such incredible amps. There is a fully loaded Mark II on the local CL in what looks like decent condition. Not sure if it's A, B, or C though. If I had any funds, I would grab it in a heartbeat.
