hey dudes

I own a rectoverb 50 watt combo and i LOVE it

but i do wish i had a 3nd channel sandwiched in between clean and super heavy

what pedal do you recommend for this?

I'm already going to have either an OCD, an ibanez tubescreamer or a keeley modded blues driver for bluesey stuff, so don't include those.

I've heard good things about the mi audio crunch box?

Thanks.

What I use to get a 3rd channel?

A Digitech GSP2101. It's an old school rackmount processor, but it works great in the loop of a Recto set to full wet.

I have mine set up so that I'm using the processor for cleans, but have my orange channel gain, and red channel gain.

If you're wanting to go with a pedal, the OCD is a great mid-gain pedal. It won't get you into metal territory, but it does hard/heavy rock very well. Much better than a tubescreamer.

The other thing to consider is to to set your second channel as your medium-gain and simply boost it with something transparent to become the gain channel.

Xotic has a few boost products, one may work for you. Demo if you can. There is a guy posting here that has a few youtubes of Xotic pedals. Wickedly effective gear. Thread search.... Even if you don't like the pedal, the playing in the link is killer.

Fultone OCD (I have verson 3) is exactly what I use w/ my Tremoverb. I've recently made a Catalinbread DLS clone which is a really cool Marshall-in-a-box pedal. They're both really good, but IMO, the OCD sounds crappy at the higher gain settings. Neither one sounds like the other, and they're both pretty sweet. But if I had to choose one over the other, I'd go w/ the DLS.
