Ohms question....

I use a 8? head (DC-5) into a 16? cab (212 ENGL Pro). This is a kosher setup and it sounds fine and the transformers are happy, but now I want to use an attenuator and I don't know whether to get the 8? or 16? THD Hot Plate. With attenuation do I match impedance to the head or cab?

My brain, it hurts.

I picked up a used Aracom attenuator and it allows you to run different ohms in to different ohms out, very handy when using different heads and cabs.
