Found this on ebay. Interesting. The heading reads "Nomad Mustang 65 vintage tube amp made by Mesa / Boogie"
4 lines into the description, the guy starts bad mouthing the same company he used in the heading to draw attention to the listing.

Anyone ever seen one of these ?

The guy is an idiot. I got into a discussion with him via eBay, and he has no sense of reality.
Basically, his logic is that since the Mesa had a line of amps in the late 90's called "Nomad", that this amp from the 70's or 80's must also be a Mesa Boogie.
Further, his logic goes, since the back of his amp says it was made in Berkeley, CA; and since Berkeley and Petaluma are both in Northern California, again it must be a secret, special, and rare Mesa Boogie.

Here is a picture of another very rare Mesa Boogie, the 1956 Chevy Nomad Wagon:

All the guy says is that "he has heard" it was "made by Mesa employees" (by inference, in their spare time or after their employment was terminated). He does not say "it is a Mesa" -- and it certainly isn't. But he wants to give you that impression. Three pre amp tubes (12ax7's?) and two EL34s is nothing groundbreaking, and certainly not "Mesa-like". Not saying it isn't a good amp, as I will never know that. But it's not a Mesa -- or anything related to a Mesa.

Hey, guys, don't tempt me to post my car pics here, please? None look or sound like a Mesa amp (nor do I want them to), but one will do about 170. Still, if you want an amp that sounds like a Mesa, don't buy the one in the OP.

Apparently, nobody has a trademark on the name "Nomad". So makers of other amps and other things are free to use that name.

For example, Carvin currently makes and sells a "Carvin Nomad" head and combo. For those who don't know, Carvin is a well-respected maker of guitars, basses, amps, and sound systems and is also located in California, USA. But the Carvin Nomad is more of a "hot rodded" vintage type tube amp than the Mesa Nomad. Carvin has its own fan base. I've never seen anybody misrepresent a Carvin Nomad as being a Mesa or connected with Mesa, which it is not. If anybody did that, I think they would make both Carvin and Mesa very angry.
