Hey Folks,

Newbie to the board - was referred by someone from Mesa themselves! Must be a good place for info. I'm not new to Mesa but have not owned one for years. Went through much gear to get to this point. After much testing for the last five months trying to find that amp you'll use for years. It was between the Marshall JVM and the Roadster. But with the current situation in this country I believe in keeping the money here in America. But not only that, this amp BLEW my mind compared to the Marshall. Dont get me wrong, I love Marshall tones like the next guy. But when it comes to the value for what your getting it's a no brainer here.
Don't even feel guilty one bit for the amount of cake it cost. I've been playing for 20+ years and gigging for 15+ and this is a tone center. I'll try to get some settings out that I've discovered and maybe you guys can give me some tips on tubes and tech stuff.

Welcome and gratz on one of the finest Mesa Amps made! I once owned a Marshall Silver Jubilee head and find that the Roadster gives me more "Marshally" tones then my old Marshall actually did if you set it on the "Orange" channel for the high gain stuff. There are a lot of Dual Rec players here that use that mode instead of the "Red" setting with their Dual Recs and most find it to be a diamond in the rough so to speak.

It has a natural low end and really usable mids that cut through nicely. The Red mode scoops the mids and boosts the highs and lows a LOT. Some feel that that sound is not the tightest for loud volume and is only usable in lower volume settings or possibly with standard/dropped D tunings. Either way you will most likely love channel 2 on your Roadster set to "British" Mode. Its a low gain channel that mimics older Marshall amps offering great crisp attack but still has that crazy vintage "sag" I didnt discover it right away but when I did I really fell in love with it.

Once again welcome and I hope you enjoy the info offered in this wonderful forum. I dont go a day with out checking it and to get a laugh now and then from folks here. Like this...

enjoy!

Hey Thanks to You all.

I got this two days before a gig week or so ago with no time to really tweak it. It was pretty decent for the time I had with it. I just couldn't leave it home. But I just had a gig last night and had time to tweak this week. Holy $%*+! Miked up with a 57 with no effects (the stage had no room for my pedal board just the switch) Was crazy beautiful if that makes any sense. This is just a dream come true live. I'd say check out our website but not until we get some live cuts with the Roadster.

Thanks for the welcomes

Jim
