The REVERB tank should be floor of cab mounted.
That way the tank is subject to less of the speaker wave front.
Also, Check the code on the tank, it is most likely an Accutronics,
if you check their website, you will be able to decipher the reverb code and it will tell you if it is a vertical /horizontal spring up/spring down etc style of pan.
 
Thanks for that info. It is an Accutronics. It was mounted on the back panel at one time. I put it back on there and it doesn't seem to make too much difference, but I'm getting a maple cabinet in tomorrow and will want it correct.
