So.....this is my first post. I've been playing on a peavey valveking 212 for years. I've never liked the sound but I've been more of an acoustic player. The band I'm in is requiring alot more electric on my end, sooo I need to get....my sound. I know y'all know what I'm talking about. I've played handfuls of amps and never really had that warm feeling. Played some Engl's and just wasn't happy.
I jammed on a mark V yesterday and I must say....it was pretty awesome. The crunch, cleanliness and tone were great. My local guitar center has one, its considered "used" but has almost zero play time on it. I know the manager pretty well and he knocked the price down a bit. Basically 1650 out the door. I assume being in a mark v forum I'm gonna get some biased answers....but is that a solid price, anything I should look out for......and is that a good price. I wanna see if they'll do 1500 out the door but I think that'll be pushing it.
My one issue is, after not spending much time on electric....my understanding about the equalizer and set up is limited. I assume it takes some time to figure out what the hell yur doing with a Mesa. I have heard they take time to dial in and figure out. But basically I want an amp I won't have to replace. I play everything from clean alice in chains to metal...I love versatility and the mark v seems to be strong suited in that area. Any feedback would be great. If I buy it now it'll be on layaway for a bit, but if its the amp I want I'll do what I gotta do.
