Hello All -
long time lurker, first time post. Just bought my first Boogie. A '92 rev E dual rectifier. I know there's plenty of back-n-forth on pre-this, post that. I Don't know much about these. Sounds kick *** after only a couple hours of playing. Stoked! Anyway, glad to be here.

Welcome to the Board.

And congrats on your Rev. E.

I own a DR of the same revision as well. Don't see them too often.

Its honestly one of the best Rectos I have ever heard.

The funny thing is it doesn't care what tubes are in it or what kind of cab its running through.
It sounds like sheer bliss no matter what.

I assume yours is an all-black color scheme as well?

actually it is not all black. It's R0579. It has the silver diamond plate, black panal, silver knobs, leather cover. My friend has a rev C that has black diamond plate, silver panal, black knobs, leather cover. Are all the rev E's supposed to have the same all black scheme? Or did they change things from time-to-time?

here's a link to an example of one like mine.

Your headshell is not the original. It has the large logo. The pointed knobs were on Rectos in the mid 90's as well if I remember right.

The original knobs and headshell probably just got changed out. No biggie.

Here's mine:

do you know approximately what serial number changed to the silver plate?

Silver plate has nothing to do with serial number. The very first recto, r-001, is a silver plate. It was simply the way the amps were ordered in--which color you liked for your amp. The same thing as old Marks--black, white, maple, imubya, bubinga, etc

Sorry I am still showing off your bed sheets, Manny! I never got around to taking a decent pic of the amp.

That was my understanding as well. Thanks for clearing this up. I should note that the link to the picture I posted before was not my amp but merely a google image I found. Mine does have the small logo.

I do have another question for you guys. The amp has a three way GND switch just above the rectifier toggle. Any idea what that does and if position makes any difference?

Thanks!

It's for eliminating ground loop hum and things like that. I keep mine in the center position. Doesn't really seem to do much anyways.
