And you also deal with phasing of the eq ( some frequency phase revers to cancel or add to an other frequency ) this will happen with harmonics ( 250hz influence on the 500hz...) and lead to a weird sounding sometimes.

Just be cerafull and don't over eq, listen with you ear, don't eq with your eyes. And remember that if you play in a band, you need to sound good with everything else, not only on your own.

Elvis and MB thanks for the info, I guess that rules me out of getting one, it looks like effects loop would be footswitchable to me, but i guess not, thanks for clearing that up for me.

You could use a loop/true bypass pedal to bypass the effects in the loop. That would make the loop switchable. Also, a mixer/loop like the Rocktron Tru-loop would allow the loop to be parallel and switchable.

Just picked up one of these today..good god this amp sounds incredible..no matter what i do it seems to have a likeable tone. unreal.
