Just got the call from Rudy's. The Series 2 Road King I ordered is in. Unfortunately, I can't go get it today. I'll go in tomorrow during lunch and un-box and try it. Then, I'll have to take the train home, get my car and drive back in to the city to get. Should be a good weekend.

Dave

Congratulations!

Like you I couldn't get mine the day it arrived. I had the hardest time sleeping that night...even when I finally got it, I couldn't keep my hands off of it.

Oh man! The RK2 is a sweet piece of.........Equipment! :p

Is it stock or custom?

Stock.

Just got back from Rudy's. The RK is perfect but the King Kontroller was dented in transit. It probably works but they're ordering another. I can probably just straighten the dent so I'll end up with 2.

I'll pick it up between 5pm and 6pm tonight.

It sounds like Peace got a banged up footswitch too. What's up with that?

I went to Rudy's a few months ago when I was visiting NY. What a cool store!

Have fun with the new toy!

I walked into Rudy's for the first time about 25 years ago. This is the first thing I've ever bought from them.

Congrats!

That thing has too many options for me. I'd be fiddling with knobs more then actually playing.

First off Congratulations Cud..... I'm lovin' that amp..... I use my "old" amp as a practice amp now and have an even more difficult time finding sounds I like when using it..... I love my RK....

Man, I got my rig and the Loop 1 switch was ripped off. There were pieces in the bag and pieces rattling inside of the Kontroller itself. I got a new one pretty quickly... I ended up calling boogie about the issues I had once I received my RK II.... The footswitch and quite a few others. My statement to boogie regarding the damage the King Kontroller sustained was, people pay alot of money for this product they (Mesa Boogie) could afford to spend a little more on packaging to assure there's little or no damage in transit. I knew it wasn't broken AT Mesa Boogie.. From Cali to Ohio is a long way... Lots of drop offs and pickups... The King Kontroller is only protected by it's own thin canvas bag.. Just kind of placed in the box...
They could definitely protect that piece a little more than it is now... Maybe some styrofoam or a small box all of it's own. It would still fit inside the head box.
At the time of my call I was told I was the only one that had called and reported any kind of damage........

I hope it gets straightened out pretty quickly for you..

Congratulations again.

Peace

I just picked up mine, too! It's beautiful...except that I'm new to F.O.B. Boogies soooo....How do I make it produce sound that doesn't sound like a dead amp without taking out that enclosed gray chord to the B output next to the "Slave"?

By the time I got back to Rudy's at around 6pm, Jesse, the salesperson that helped me, had already called Boogie for me. Mesa is sending me a new Kontroller on Monday. Everything else was perfect. I even got a real Road King II Manual.

Anyway, here's a pic. I'm selling the cab in the picture in case anyone is interested. As you can see, it's pristine. Try finding one at GC in this condition.

PS

We had company tonight so I haven't even plugged it in!

Most likely, the one I made. You can see a green cab in the pic. I'm going to re-tolex it with Mesa tolex. I may also try a Bogner Uberkab or Mesa 4x12 Recto.

Hey Cud,

You have a real RK2 Manual? *******! So I guess it doesn't say anything about the Pentode/triode switch in the book?

Just curious. What Serial # do you have?

Actually, I think I saw a pic of the switch! I don't know the serial number. I think I may have a problem with it. I can't plug in the King Kontroller because it's damage. So when I turn it on and manually switch to Channel 4, I can turn the gain and master all the way to 10 and not get anywhere near the max volume or gain.

Does anyone know if you must have the King Kontroller plugged in to the amp? I'm pretty pissed right now since I have to wait till Monday to call Boogie.
