Now you have THE AMPS hehehheauhauahuahau

When you totaly undestand your Mark V, can you do a comparisson betwen it and your Diezel and Engl ? Clean and Drive Channel to Metal ? Thanks!!!

You have the amps of many peoples dreams....
Yes, do a comparisson, with some sound clips also if possible. the best possible cleans you found, and the most extreme settings also...

muahhahaha~ Thanks you guys.

I owned Mark V for two days only, but I can easily deal it with any tone
from aggressive metal tone, liquid fusion rock lead sound to superb nice clean tone.

To compare Mesa/Boogie Mark V with Diezel Herbert -
the Ch3 extreme mode from Mark V is like Ch2 of Herbert - tight, accurate and aggressive.
Ch3 from Mark V is drier, so make it really little bit tighter for rhythm playing,
and Ch2 from Herbert is slightly saturated and bassy.
Ch3 extreme mode with grahic EQ is capable as Ch2 of Herbert with "Mid-Cut" on.
Anyway, the Ch3 of Herbert is still the king in state of saturated higain tone.
But both Ch1 Tweed mode and Ch2 Mark I mode of Mar V really melt my heart.

The ENGL Invader is another territory and far away from them.
It sounds cold, stiff and has special mid tone.

For overall, I really like Mark V better than Diezel Herbert and ENGL Invader.
Mark V is a masterpiece, the best Mesa/Boogie amp to me.

Wow. Your last two sentences say ALLOT!

Engl are said to be some of the best... regarding High Gain.
Emperor uses Engl, the Powerball (that says a lot!!!!!) and they say that you only need to plug the guitar...
How would you compare High Gain from the Engl vs Mark V? Would the Mark V do the job without any pedals or anything on FX?????

For ENGL amps, I owned Ritchie Blackmore model and I played FireBall 60 before.
ENGLs are cold and stiff to me. If you love that amp, that would be the best to you.

I don't use any overdrive pedal to boost the amp because l want my setup to be simplest.
Just the guitar and the amp.

I was worried about the gain capability of Mark V before since I own Herbert and Invader.
But Mark V doesn't let me down, it can do the job very well and don't need to get help from pedals.

That's what I wanted to confirm.
Thanks, My mark is already booked... December they tell me...
Engl are also to stiff for me and don't have the fullness of boogie..

I agree with the Herbert statement. I had a Herbert a few years ago. Great amp for sure, loved it at first, but I noticed that I kept trying to make it sound like my boogies. I guess I´m addicted to the liquidy, midrangey, thumping sound of the Marks. So I sold the Herbert and haven´t really regretted it once. The Mark series is where my heart lies. I´ve cheated on them a few times, but I always come back to them.

Thanks, mate.
Ch.3 from Mark V is so dry, tight and fast picking response.
It makes me really thirsty

Great tone!!!! really really good!!! I just hate you all for having that amp and mine hasn't arrived yet...:)

Can you explain something that's been rumbling here...
What is the difference between tube rectification and the other option (if there is one)... i always see 'mode: tube rectification'... or something like that...

Hahaha~ Thanx a lot !
Mark V has smart design in state of Tube and Diodes (solid-state,SS) rectifiers selection.
You can find that feature on other Boogies like Recto and etc.

For Mark V in 45watt mode, Ch1 and Ch2 allow you to choose between
TIGHT, bold, higher-headroom response of Silicon Diodes
OR Saggy, Sweet, low-output looseness of Tubes Rectifier

I printed out and read thru the user manual of Mark V before I started to play Mark V.
It took me few nights to finish it.
