This my first gig in more than two years!! And I'll be using my Mesa Boogie Mark IIa with a weber G12-65. I hope It won't let me down.

Wish me luck!

I hope your gig goes well! How do you like the weber 65, anyway? Smooth?

Thanks!

It all went well and I really enjoyed it! The amp just behaved like it should... Until two weeks ago I was using a 18W single-channel amp with preamp gain. I have all my gear set to play this way so I only used the clean channel. I set the gain to 7, treble 7, mid 2, bass 2 and master 3 on the normal channel. This was enough for a medium sized venue with only 50 people there. I got a bit of preamp distortion that I could control with the pick.

I got my distortion tones from a Rat II and a Maxon OD-808.

It's funny because I didn't noticed the real tone of the amp until yesterday. It has a very VERY strong punchy midrange. The G1265 is a smooth speaker, with a high treble roll off, and not very punchy (small magnet). Even with it the tone was really punchy!

The cleans are detailed and dynamics and, with the distortion effects, it retains all the clarity. When doing rhythm with the RAT it was almost too detailed...

In the end, it was a great night with my friends and the amp delivered!!
