So I got hit with my first Mark V issue this weekend. The spring reverb on the amp just stopped working. I checked the connections (the black and white wires) and they seem nice and snug. Is there a preamp tube that exclusively controls the reverb and not affect anything else in the amp that might have blown? If you have any suggestions, workarounds, or diagnostics tips please let me know. I hope this is just a blown tube and nothing more serious.

Thanks,

Check the spring connections, and also ring-test the reverb tank circuit. I had a MESA Quad with the same issue...
The problems so far (paint issue excluded) may just be due to mishandling by the shipping companies? I went down to UPS to pick up an amp, and noticed the guys literally throwing boxes onto the concrete floor! I wonder if MESA would permit picking one up from the factory?

I hear that packing should be able to absorb a four foot drop on concrete for ups.

Mine did the same, its a little switch/relay of some sort related to the mute circuit, was a simple fix by mesa repair.

The bottom of my box had split open when my V arrived at work. I've had zero problems out of my amp, however.

Until your transformer arcs and you get a bolt of lightning to the chest.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I had no issues with the packaging whatsoever, and I did enjoy the lush reverb for over two months. So I think shipping is not the issue here :)

I spoke with the folks at Mesa, and they recommended that I swap out v4 and v5. If that doesn't work then they asked me to take the amp to the authorised local service center. I will be doing the swap tomorrow and will post an update after that.

cheers,
