It costs $400 US. Mine's being modded as we speak! The $200 US you speak of is the charge for a general clean up that Mike performs before he does the mod (usually costs between $120-200). He doesn't perform the mod unless the amp is in good shape, so if you're amp is in bad shape, the mod will be around $520-600.

Do the models with the built in EQ sound the same as the non-EQ models? Are the schematics the same?

If you were using the GEQ model and you chose to turn the GEQ off, yes, they would both sound the same. So they both have the same circuit board except one has more tonal shaping options because of the added EQ. Most players with the non-EQ versions however have used external EQ pedals to obtain the same tonal flexibility.

Why are the models with the EQ significantly more expensive? Is it because some people aren't aware that the model without EQ is the same amp, and they just want the one with more options?
