Is it okay to just disconnect it? I have outboard reverb that just kills so the internal just isn't necessary to me.

Just unhook it?
Remove a tube?
 
you can disconnect it but generally, having the extra tube in the signal path should have a small but good effect on tonal warmth. Even with the reverb sett to zero. So at least keep the tube plugged in as I believe it's always present in the preamp circuit no matter what
