Mini Rec question

Is there an easy way that I'm overlooking to remove the power tubes from this thing? I feel like I'm about to break my tubes when trying to lift the wire holding the tube down. I just cannot get good leverage to pry it over the tubes.

You don't need to lift the wire. You slide it across. I suspect you're trying to move it in the wrong direction. It should come off easily.

Slide it across? hrmm... then yes I have been doing it wrong. I've been lifting it straight up and then over the tip of the tube itself which always seems just a hair away from breaking the said tip. Man I wish Mesa would put a little blurb or something in their manual. So if I get what your saying correctly I just lift top and just move it over to the left or right?

If I remember correctly (I'm not near my amp at the moment), instead of lifting the wire over the tip, pull it back away from the tip. The wire on the other side of the tube should spread and come around the sides of the tube.

Doh!!! You sir are a genius. I didn't even think about that. Seriously, thank you. I'm sure I would've eventually over time broken at least one of my tubes and probably cut the hell out of myself.
