Just got a call from the man himself, apparently a few mods were done to my tremoverb that I was not told about, he put it all back to stock, and replaced all of the LDRs. Mine was one of the last ones made, and I think he mentioned something about Silonics LDRs being in all tremoverbs and they were a big mistake and thorn in his balls. My tremoverb comes home monday, sooo stoked!

I also mentioned to him that I took it to Music Technology, a certified repair center, and the guy was going to charge me around 11 dollars for each LDR, Mike was like...he did what?! apparently they aren't allowed to charge for these, since he replaced them at no charge (just labor). Hopefully that place loses its certification, so many people hate that place in this area, craigslist (wash.dc) was flooded with hate posts about them last week.

Good for you! :)

I find the comment about the service center over charging most interesting.....not the first I've heard of this kind of thing....
I tend to assume the LDR issue is like a "recall" that is supposed to be done free of (parts, anyway) charge?

I'm thinking a call direct to Mesa to find these things out may be good to do before taking any Mesa to any local service center....may keep 'em honest! 8)

So let us know if you like the tone after you get it back and if that service center ends up at odds with Mesa over this. I am curious how Mesa handles this.
Good luck!

I spoke to Mesa about my 1999 tremoverb and they told me which Ldr's should be changed and also charged me for them. I paid about 6 to $7 ea.

silly question but, who is Mike B.? Is he a guy at Mesa?

Not a silly question...I don't know who that is either!

Besides Randall Smith, Mike has been there forever, alot of the earlier amps will have his intials in them, my R0005 rec was done by him and from what I heard he is a huge mark guy and prefers the mark amps to the rectifiers or any other mesa.

Mike is cool as hell!!!!!

I called him about a Mark III that had his sig on it. He just laughed and said, "My sig is everywhere these days!"
I looked at my 4 Mesas and his name was on 3 of them!

I think he was one of the 1st people hired at Mesa.

Anyway, let us know for sure about the changes in your T-Verb. I just ended up trading some stuff (not the Maverick) for a combo. It's a 2001, so probably really close to yours in serial #'s, which is not very re-assuring. I was hoping that the junky LDR's were only in the earlier models.

Maybe they will send the parts to me for free and I can fix it myself!

Called me up today to finalize everything. They charged me $0 for the LDR replacements, a new 12ax7 preamp tube. the total bill was 175 dollars shipped back to my house, that is half of what Music Technology was going to charge me, i think the labor was around 140 dollars. Very very awesome, I get it back mid next week, it ships out tomorrow.
