If I'm not mistaken, the slave out already has the power amp coloring, since it's coming from the output transformer as well. Running that into something transparent, like the Fryette, should be perfect.

I don't think you necessarily need power tube coloration for this application, but rather a power amp that replicates, with fidelity, the preamp tone from your slave out, so the Fryette 2902 should be an excellent choice, with its monster KT88 tubes. Besides, the JP2C's slave-out signal is tapped directly from the speaker output so it already contains power amp characteristics, no need to colour that again with the Mesa 2:90.
I have a 2011 2902 and it doesn't have the flat/dynamic voicing options (it has a voicing option switch but is it the same thing?); I thought the flat/dynamic option was introduced with the LXII, to use with either modellers or tube preamps. Am I wrong?
I'm fairly confident that's the same thing, but I could be wrong. I heard other people say it was, and when I tried it, it seemed to do just that. I was running an ADA MP-1 into the Fryette, and I toggled that switch back and forth a few times, and one way does sound flat and boring with a tube preamp
