If any of you are interested here is Flemming Rasmussen's studio notes for the MOP and JFA albums. Some of the notes share the graphic EQ settings as well as board EQ's, mics etc... I hope some of you dig it and find it useful.

From what I understand, horizontal row of #s represent the setting of the Mark IIC+, Mark IV maybe on the AJFA notes, circled means the knobs are pulled out.

Volume=9.5, treble=7, bass=2, middle=4, master=4, lead drive=5, lead master=3.5, and presence=4.5, which is on the back of the amp. I believe that is the layout of the amp from pictures I have seen. I do not own a Mark IIC+.

The EQ graphic drawing is pretty self explainitory. No idea about the other symbols. Mike placement maybe?

I just posted it cause I know some members here have done some recordings of Metallica songs. Thought it might be interesting to see the notes from the man who was actually there producing and engineering the albums.

The values on the lower left correspond to the parametric eq that they used for recording. I believe it was either an Aphex or Furman. Both models are now discontinued.

on a side note...I will be going to the Metallica concert in San jose tomorrow. Pretty excited! My first metallica concert! I will keep an eye out for their gear. Nowadays, bands hide all their gear right? Is it under the stage?

I saw them a few months back and they totally rocked the house! Sounded great, high energy and played awesome. There were some combo amps center of the stage but they were used by the opening bands. Have fun!

What songs were they playing? Newer/Death magnetic or older RTL, MOP stuff? I just hope they dont playing anything from the Load/re-load albums :lol:
