Good day everyone

I'm not new to this forum but I don't post a lot. I'm a happy triaxis user and a metallica fan, I always wanted to get much closer as possible to James's tone and I always knew that he used 2 triaxis blended together for his chrunch rhythm tone and once of them was modified (Triaxis #2 V2 Yellow Lead 2 Gain mod (Hetfield mod) as described in several gear pages) but no one wanted or could mention what the mesa techs really did to his unit. People said that it was a Mesa MkIIC+ put in a triaxis shell or something like that... We all know that his preferred tone comes from a Mesa MkIIC+ and it could be possible that his triaxis unit was modified to get closer as possible to that tone, but there aren't certain infos in internet that can guide people to make that mod and get closer to his tone as ever. So far I've managed somehow to reach a good tone using a custom built stereo eq to shape my tone but it isn't perfect.

Now, after more than 25 years since that mod happened happened and now that they switched to digital and not using the old tube amps anymore (at least for live shows), I would like to ask to the experts that are present here in the forum if there is an update about that mod, if someone could speak about it openly and eventually provide support to people that want to do it in their units or eventually reach who actually did it and unveil that mistery once for all, to let people understand better what's under the hood of that unit.

Thank you in advance and sorry if I'm asking for something that might still be "Top Secret", I don't know if it's now allowed to speak about it or not
