Hey all,

Just got a used Tremoverb head today, and fired it up for a bit. I didn't get to mess around with it a ton, but had some observations that I was wondering if other users could either confirm/shed some light on.

1) That thing is loud! :D

2) On the orange channel vintage high gain, the treble knob seems weird to me. Up until like 3 o clock, it clearly adds treble, but around 330, its like the treble is removed for a bit, and then after 4 it adds treble but in a different way/frequency. Make sense?

3) The red channel on both blues and modern seems generally louder than the orange

4) Turning on the tremolo seems to cut a bit of volume.

Thats all I think for now.

Matt

Yeah, same thing with the Rectifiers as far as switching modes, so beware when experimenting at high volumes.
I can't comment on the treble question, might be the way the pot tapers.
Have Fun!

Welcome to TOV brotherhood... lol

In regards to your statements...

1) Yes it is but isn't that what we all love? :D

2) I find the sweet spot on the Treble (both channels) to be around 2-3 oclock and then it seems as if it goes out of harmony range with the other EQ's. (Also, I notice that if I do push the treble then I adjust the Presence back some to color it back.

3) Red channel is typically louder even when cloned... when I do that, I typically find that the vintage high gain on red seems to have some more bark and edge to it. It's fun and sounds great and not so harsh on the ears in small settings as modern.

4) My tremolo normally takes a few seconds to engage so I'm not sure if its faulty or just slow but I don't notice too much of a volume cut. The more engaged depth and speed are, the more it seems that volume is cut but I'm not sure if thats just audible interpretation or actual decibel reduction.

If you haven't already, spend some time on the blues channel with tube rectification... its definitely an underrated channel that I don't know why Mesa removed

i put all my controls between 10 and 2 o clock i think. Bass on 10, Mids on 2, trebl on 12 if i'm not mistaken. Then again, I have the combo version and I run it on bold with silicon diode for a tight high gain sound.

hmm...seems like everything checks out on the t-verb, except that treble control still has me worried since it doesn't do the same thing on the red channel. anyone else have comments on the orange channel treble..i'll see if i can record it tomorrow to give you guys a better idea

.. have you tried adjusting the treble with the mids and bass all the way off?
what about in blue mode on the orange
... how about different volume settings?
is that 'dead' spot still there?

The red channel is always louder than the orange, it's voiced that way. :D
