Mesa single rectifier series 1 or 2 what you think?

If you had to choose between the 2 wat would it be?


Im in this situation and I need all your input......which should I go?

I'd go with the series 2, always sounded good to me. It's got the extra raw mode, its newer. Never heard much about the series 1 sounding better like how the 2 channel Dual Recs sounding better than the newer 3 channels.

Never heard or played the series 2, but I have a series 1 that kicks all kinds of ***. Use a Maxon OD-808 in front and a Sonic Maximizer in the loop. Have it outfitted with some NOS tubes right now. Use it with a Mesa 4x12.

I just bought a Series 2 over the weekend. It totally crushes with all the goodness that made Rectos an icon. Never played Series 1. Don't see alot of Single Recs around here though. Most people seem to need the 150 watts pumping thru a 4x12 so Guitar center seems to only have DR and TR.
