Had to share this because I've searched the internet and haven't seen one yet. I use Orange ppc212c cabs so I thought I'd compliment them with some orange on my Triple Recto. I used the ol' Hairdryer method to remove the faceplate.

Nice. Did you remove it somehow? I can't figure out a way to get mine off without risking dmage to the shell, is there a trick?

It does take some patience. As long as you are very careful when lifting the plate off of the board (don't slide a metal ruler underneath the plate and push down to use the board as leverage to lift the plate). Just keep lifting it straight up with a metal ruler or something similar. This will take you about 20-30 min to do, so just be patient.

And you need to scuff the plate up pretty good. I primed it overnight with 2 coats, then put 2 coats of Rustoleum Gloss Orange Painter's Touch spray paint. Let it sit for 24-36 hours to be sure it was completely dry.

You have to remove all of the adhesive off the plate and board because its basically useless. Just get some 3M double-sided adhesive to replace the old stuff.

I get my Orange ppc412hp in this week to go with my ppc212c, so I will have a 3/4 stack. Also go an Amber jewel light coming in this week, so I will be sure to upload a picture of my entire stack on Friday/Saturday.

Thanks for the kind responses! First time every posting on a forum.

Very cool. I've thrown around the idea of painting the diamond plate on my Single Rec. Nice job.
