(pre-2010 3ch recto) Maxon OD808 for pure metal, no OD in front for numetal.

I've had great experience with the Maxon OD808 + Dual Rectifier combo. The Way Huge Green Rhino is my #1 go to Overdrive pedal right now, I would image it would pair well with a Recto.

It took me one hour to build the kit, good components and easy installation. I'll post clips when I get back from BDay trip to Cali.

I checked out the Hollywood Boogie store. My wallet was quaking for a custom shop Mark V!

Anyone here tried the TC Electronic Spark Booster with rectifiers? Heard it's sort of a derivate of the old TC Electronics Booster + Linedriver & Distortion pedal. Cannot test it as local dealers don't have it currently.

The best thing to do is to try different ones at your local store and choose what suites best for you. I did the test with 3, the TS-9, the Maxon OD808 and the real TS808 and this last one made it for me. But as I said the 3 were very good but very different on their tone and feel and grain etc but again all 2 very good! By the way I used it with my rectoverb 50 head and it's a new amp with it! Wow I love this overdrive.

Here are some clips from youtube of Recitifer+ TS808 Maxon (no they are not mine):

Both of these guys play super low detuned stuff, which is not my style - but will give you an idea of how it will sound. I was sold on the combo just based on these videos. I particularly liked the first video when he hits the open E string it sounds nice and beefy. Hope that helps.

Hey guys. I went the cheaper route and got a MXR classic OD pedal. Sounds great. My recto likes it a lot more then my Mark V. My Mark V does not get along well with pedals for some reason.

Here is some clips fooling around.

With my roadster I use an Ibanez TS-7 tubescreamer. This is the tone-lok version pedal that has two modes, TS-9 mode and hot mode. Hot mode is too much for me but the TS-9 mode with the level cranked, the tone ~noon and the gain ~ 9 o'clock sounds great on Ch.4 modern. It gives that little extra sizzle that I dig.

Maxon OD808 all the way! It makes my dual rec sound MEAN! It cuts a bit of bass though and you have to be careful not dialing in too much highs on your amp. I'd also love to try the fulltone OCD.

It's not overdrive, but I use a Furman PQ6 parametric EQ in front(and in the loop) of my two channel triple rec. Boosting at about 250 and 1.6k
