Mesa LSS 4x10 using the optional 35 watts jack for speakers

is this safe to plug the 4 speakers into the optional 35 watt jack ?

I want the most headroom possible out of this amp but don't want to damage anything

are there any differences tonally when going from the optional 35 watt output versus the normal outputs ?

It's been a while since I had my LSS, but I don't remember there being any major changes when using the 35 watt jack. Obviously, it will be a little different, but the character of the amp remains pretty much the same, and the 35 watt output stresses the power tubes a bit more, which is something I didn't want.
