Alot of the great amps are dry and unforgiving in their gain,so a processor or pedal can be used to wetten up the sound,it's easier on the ears, kinda like adding liquid gain.

something like the opposite of "thin" IMO
I've heard (and used) that complaint with the Mark IV before. I haven't been using it for long enough to really harness it but it takes a balance of presence and drive (i pull the drive and leave the presence in) to get it to give you an even saturation through the whole freq band. I added a small amt of reverb too (anything less then 1.5) to loosen it up and it really had a good effect to my higher freq... (platypus taught me that)

my 2 cents.

cheers.

PS: Sorry if we're totally off topic on this thread :)

Sorry everybody but i never heard an amp here that really impressed me. If i didn't have bought my OD100SE+ (that i love for its versatility) i would order this Cameron amp RIGHT AWAY!

It's hard to compete with this though, it sound like a ton of bricks even through the camera mic. That was my 2000 cents.

I know you don't want to spend a lot of cash but it could worth to put money on the side to eventually buy this wonder.

Here's something i never heard... original rack combo:

Wow!    this guy (cliffdove) play Millennium Cyanide Christ perfectly! I'm mostly impressed by his playing. That make me think of a proverb by a guy named Cervantes... "This is not wealth that makes us happy but the use we make of it"

I begin to stop buying new gear cause i really found exceptional piece of gear. The main thing is if i could understand this very simple fact of life before to have bought all the gear i own and i sold, i would spend more time to play, study music... instead of doing overtime every-weeks at my job.

To be more specific, i'm sure a lot of people would be surprised to see how their amp (they're about to sell) what can do, when playing through different speakers, cables, guitar/pickups, boost/overdrive pedals, EQ...

...i remember my teacher showing me something on a small and cheap Peavy combo, the guy's playing was so clean that the dirty sound on the amp was really good to ear.

...my last advise, you don't wanna spend to much money? Very good idea! You found the best deal ever? liked the amp when you tried it, buy it and keep it! period.
