It took 14 weeks and 6 days from mine to come in. I have th Bubinga and wicker F-50. Some folks claim to have gotten theirs in the 6-8 week time frame, others have waited over 6 months. I think it depends on what it is you're getting. THere's no way to accurately predict, as far as I can tell, and trust me on this - there's no way to make it go any faster. I tried. The wait is well worth it though. Goo dluck - and post pics when you get it - sounds like a sweet set-up.

Thanks for the insight plumptone. I figured that the time might vary. I've hear different things from different people regarding time frames on receiving custom orders from Mesa. I just hope that my wait is on the short end of that spectrum.

And your right, the wait is unbearable! Especially since I had to sell my Rect-O-Verb head in order to afford the Roadster and my Dual Rec is at my band's practice space. :(

It's a $159 custom option. It's not something they do normally for the Roadster because of the different dimensions of the amp and the fact that the diamond plate they get in the factory is prefabricated to fit certain amps. I just nagged enough that I finally got my way.

How wide is the Roadster head? Couldn't they use the DP from the Roadking head, or is the Rster head shorter?

EDIT: nevermind, the RK head is a little longer, so in essence, all they have to do is grind off some of the dp from it to fit the Roadster head

This is my RK Series II. Took only 9 months to get it! At least they compensated with a black RK I without a footswitch...at the VERY least. Also in the pic: Les Paul Standard Faded, and McCarty Ten Top.

Did you order your RK II before they were released? I've heard that there was a problem receiving components and that they were backordered when the RK II was supposed to be released. Hopefully the same won't be true with my custom order.

It's a sweet look'n rig you got though! I hope it was worth the wait.

Cudbucket: That looks great man. Good work.

Also- I know when you want your Mesa Stuff customized it has to be down from the very start and not after you get them. but I just wanted to know if you could change just the grill??? Thanks

-Patrick

yes, you can, you just have to get somebody to make you one, or get a trusty dealer to put in an order for just the jute grille from Mesa. May be a little pricy, but if it's what you want, I'd go with Mesa to keep it original material.

Mesa are good people. You hit the nail on the head talkin' about the backup with the manufacturers for parts and so-forth. It was well worth the wait. Once I complete my monster pedalboard it'll be well worth all your wait(s) to see it!

MesaENGR412: So Mesa can change my grilles on my amps even though I already have them and they are stock. Do I just buy the grilles from them and teak ethem to a Mesa Dealer. The closest Mesa Dealer from me is the one in LA and they've been pretty good to me.

As far as i know yes, you can order grilles for you cabs and just replace them yourself or have a tech help you. But, I've never done it, so i could be wrong. I just do know that the person i ordered my halfstack from has ordered several things from that are not whole amps, and i would presume that since he could do that, any dealer could. It's just a matter of paying them the price for it and then replaceing it. Now as far as the front of the head, like the diamond plate, no, you can't, because he tried, and he ended up having to order a whole new headcase ( he just wanted to replace the diamond plating on the front with a newer piece, and since it was glued, not screwed in, he didn't want to damage the head case trying to pull it off **this is also one of the original '92's so he decided to keep the headcase in tact and original, just incase he wanted to sell it later) Anyway, I would just give your dealer a ring, and ask them if it was possible to order a new grille for your cab. I know they come out, so that's not an issue. Or give Mesa a call themselves, i don't think you could go wrong there either. I hope it works out for you.

i actually just spoke to someone from guitar center. They said i could have the grill ordered from them and then take it to a Mesa tech and have it installed. I looked on the pricing list and it looks like for a 4x12 cab it would be $199.00 plus labor to have it installed.

allcountyfair: Sweet man. When you thinking about doing it? I've wanted to change my grilles up but never knew that you could just change the grill and not the whole thing from the start. Good info.

-Patrick

as soon as i get the money together I'll probably do it. What do you want to change yours to? I'm guessing you like Blink because of your name, do you want to change it to the tan grille like Tom Delonge has?

Nice. That'd be cool. I saw one with the Gold Grille and it looked pretty sick. I like the black myself, but if i changed it, i'd go with Pewter. $199's not that bad really. I figured it'd be about that price range. Cool stuff.
