mesa boogie roadster through a 5150 cab???

have anyone test to play a dual recto head th´rough a 5150 4*12 cab. im interested how it sounds.
I know that the 5150 cab is not so good as a recto cab but it should be tighter.or........???

i played my rev F dual rec through my friend's 5150 cab, and to be honest, i wasn't impressed. the sheffield speakers just don't do the dual rec justice. compared to my marshall 1960, the 5150 cab was much less punchy, no where near as bassy, and it seemed to be a little noisier.

he eventually replaced the sheffield speakers with some celestion v30's (the same speakers that the recto cabs have), and it sounded much much much better.

note that we play modern metal, so we like punch and bass, and silence when we stop playing. i personally wouldn't suggest the 5150 cab with a dual rec.

ok I play brutal metal also.just checking it out.Ive got a mesa recto cab and a 5150 cab,but i never use the 5150 cab but must try anyway.

Sell both and get a Mills cab :wink:

You dont know brutal, low end power and punch until you've let your recto bust a nut through the Mills

d@mn you jdurso... I have been eye f***ing Mills Acoustic cabs for a LONG LONG time... every post I see you recommend them makes me want to sell half my gear to get 2 of those cabs...

I haz cab envy... :evil:

tried today. mesa roadster through a 5150 cab.sounded ok
punchy and more bass than a marshall cab. not as good as mesa recto cab though but ok.

Nothing beats a Recto cab.

I ran my Orange AD30 through my Recto cab instead of my Orange Cab because the Recto sounds so much better considering its exactly the same speakers.
