Roadcase with good quality castors is FIRST if you ever venture to try it. I have to say, for the way this rig tears the faces of everyone in its path and the calories I burn by getting them up and down my basement stairs its SOOOOOO worth it!!! For me there is just no better feeling than having my regions top guitarist scoping out what under the hood and using accolaides like "sic" and "f'n killer dude"... Whatever did rock and roll do without Mesa???

While I'm probably not the only board member to do this, I'm bringing this up since nobody else has yet:

A Dual Rectifier and a Mark V in stereo!

The two amps complement each other nicely. The Rectifier gives you the low end aggression, and the Mark gives you the bite. Just be warned, you will have to crank it a bit before you can really start reaping the rewards...

I've done this a few times and it sounds killer. The Mark's more aggressive midrange sits perfectly in the pocket of the Recto's natural scoop. I've tried using multi amp setups before and the two amps always seemed to fight each other, not so in this case... they mate more or less perfectly.

However, I try to avoid doing it too much because I don't want to become too accustomed to it. It's a whole second rig to drag around and I don't want to get into that.

What you guys are talking about here between the Mark and the Recto is a perfect example of what I was recommending earlier. Each amp owns a certain frequency range or ranges, and they all get heard. No more having to choose between singing mids or heart-thumping bass.

BINGO!!!

IF you're not running your Dual Rec in stereo you are completely missing out on the most amazing thing you've ever heard. It's like dating a super model AND her twin sister... THINK ABOUT IT!

I went to jam session last week and only took one of my tremoverb 2x12s and I was so bummed. It sounded great don't get me wrong but it was missing that KILLER factor that I'm so used to. Too bad they're so dang heavey especially with their road cases!!!!
Really I only need an extra power am and cab BUT IF I have to have a backup amp anyway, why not use it!
