My band played a tribute to metallica, the whole Master of puppets album a few weeks ago.
Here are the youtube clips, some small mistakes but overall we were happy with the set:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xm6DSRovYUs - Welcome home

I am the guy on the left, this was the second time i played live with my mark III and i really like the way it cuts through.
Gear:
Ibanez RG550 w/EMG 81.
Fernandes vertigo standard w/dimarzio superdistortion (Drop D)
Mesa Mark III red stripe simul-class head.
ENGL standard 4x12 w/celestion V60's.
ISP decimator, Boss TU-2, Ibanez ADL and SC10.

Other guitarplayers uses Ibanez prestige, Rg550, Mesa studio and 50/50, ENGl standard 4x12, various effects.

you guys made a good work, long live old Metallica's music! How do you like the Studio Pre + 50/50 compared to your Mark III? I'm asking this because I own a Studio Pre and would like to buy a 50/50 too...

Of course my opinion is biased as it concerns my own rig but i definately like the mark III better. It might be the simul-class that does the trick or just the preamp but the sound I have is more tight and focused in the low-end, and the overal distortion character is more "brutal" than the studio/50/50 combination. But the studio/50/50 combi is by no means a bad one, I just prefer the mark, a matter of taste, and they're not miles apart anyway.

Dat schopt kont dude!

...but I don't need the camera in my ***. Don't know who the guy is that suggests it, but I don''t think I'll feel comfortable with it.

Good sounding amps and axe's!

And about the 50/50: I personally don't really like it, so the Simul class poweramp will certainly matter a lot.

Sounds really good.

I think Metallica is the only band I would be in a cover band for.

Wow, i'd have loved to have been at that show!!! You guys are AWESOME!! MOP is my favorite 'tallica song and an awesome album. You just need to drop the ibanezi and go ESP!! Haha, j/k Great playing thought, thank you very much for posting this!! \m/

+1! Where I live no band could do renditions of any song that last as long as those Metallica song's. You could probably get away with one MOP and that would be it. Me, personally I'd love to hang out in a bar in the Netherlands, drink a beer, and check you guys out! Great tunes and keep spreading the Metal!

That's pretty awesome **** man.. I'm gonna probably end up watching all the videos heh heh...

I always forget how crazy this **** sounds when its played properly live.. excellent stuff, and I dig the tone!

The only thing we could cover here in Columbus is Garth Brooks and Skynard at the local Nascar club. LOL!
