MARK V "head" is 3500 usd,so if it sound our post funny its because mesa boogie in europe veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy expensive

I agree... In portugal a Mark V is 6 times de minimum salary... that's why almost no one has one

All Mesa things here are TOO expensive! Not only the Mark V!

My local distributor of mesa, is the marshall distributor too... and he said me that marshall there are very expensive in the states. Here, marshall is more "affordable" than boogie.

The boat ride is expensive both ways!

From personal experience. The problem is not the boat ride. Is that there are to many people making money in the transporting...
The owner, first distributor, second distributor, europe representative, own country representative, local store... all of them stealing. I don't know about the rest of the world, but in Portugal, everyone is stealing their share above average

Wow! If is only the boat trip (I think the high priced is for more reasons, like Rkorn said) a Diezel amp should be very expensive in the states! Like a car?

In Portugal, a Mesa 20/20, a triaxis and a 412 rectifier cab cost almost as much as a car.
All of this, here, can be around 8000€. The minimum salary is 475 €.

In portugal, Mesa is for the rich, or for the ones who don't eat for months to buy one... which is the case for me until December. lol

yeah i know, Portugal sucks.
Its really hard to give that kind of money for an amp, mark V deserves it tough. Best amp I owned/played.
you could get a nice deal with Musifex. They have always been nice to me.

Musifex is nice... but now I'm getting better offers at Castanheira (Lisboa), better price and better treatment.
Castanheira ordered a Mark V for me to test. Musifex said: "you order, you buy, if you don't like it... bad luck for you". And I hate guys like these. The only one nice there, I never seem to get a hold of him anymore...

Still, i'm getting a Mark V as soon as I have the money!!!

****! Sooo fucking expensive!

In Madrid, Triaxis+20/20+2x12 cost about 4880€, in germany (thomann) cost 4640, very similar. And I don´t know why, but the triaxis now is sooooo expensive, around 2600€! o_O when I was interested in it, cost around 1400

If you tried the mark V, and like it, you should look in german´s shop... like thomann, musicstore and musikproduktiv. They make delivery for all europe, and you have service in your mother tongue, too! :D

That's my thing!!!!
Since they ship to all over Europe, all stores here are pulling their prices down! I'm in conversation with Musicstore to give me their lowest possible price, that way I can bring that price to some store here and they will make it even cheaper!

Madrid is a great city, been there lots of times, but this past December was to see Paradise Lost in Heineken Room (is this how it is spelled?), and what a great show and a great room!!

Hi Guys,
i leave in Europe as well,
here are some thoughts and also the way i solve couple of "issues" you described.
First, Mesa products are expansive here for many reasons you described;
Second, in europe, you can make intra eu arbitrage. Buying from an authorized seller in eastern europe will allow you to save money.
Third, my preferred solution is buying from US sellers, either new or second hand gear. There are reliable sellers here and there and i know one top guy , well known and faithfully respected on this forum. On top, most of the amps i bought from him were recently serviced at Mesa factory. Buying a MKIV or a C+, recently serviced is a must; better investing a couple of hundred USD in that rather than gambling buying an amp coming from nowhere and saving USD 200 bucks as for example. Shipping is not an issue. Why should european guys pay EUR 1150 for a second hand triaxis when you can get one for USD 900? by the way i will sell mine , send me pm if you have any interest)
Fourth, as we all know, mesa products are reliable.
cheers

Since this year, I prefer searching something from second hand. This year, suddenly, the mesa´s prices goes up; they are more expensive than 2009. I bought a Quad pre (I was interested in Mark V, but I have the possibility to get a Quad instead) and I was thinking to buy a 2:90 to match with it. You can imagine my "great" surprise, when I went to the store, and saw the 2:90 it was like 2000€, when the last time cost 1600€ o_O

At the end, I search in second hand market, and it´s more similar than the states´s prices... I mean, a Quad there cost around 500-600$, and here the same in euros (forgetting the difference between currency values, but well, is better than nothing)

And yes! I was thinking about to go to see Paradise Lost, too! But it wasn´t possible...

At least, I went to Rammstein´s show O¬o probably the best performance I´ve ever seen (Like every show from Rammstein, of course! :p)

I believe this topic is here because of just that! Mesa makes a good product!! Not that I don't like Engl, Marshall and a bunch of others... For the tone i'm after, Mesa seems the best!
But what about connectig them to electricity. In Portugal we have 230v, I would have to change the ... (I don't know the name in english) for the amp to behave properly at 230v, and to change that... It is better to buy new.
I tried a Dual Rec, and a US Dual Rec with the thing changed and you cannot believe the difference... the amp did not have as much punch and I would rather have a Hot Rod Deluxe with a Fulltone Catalyst for Metal that that Dual Rec Head...

I saw rammstein at Rock in Rio... The sound of the guitar.... is just amazing... they have Dual Rec and Bogner Uber...

Yeah, I´m agree with you... probably my favourites sounds are engl and diezel... but I prefer mesa, above them :) (If there wasn´t like that, why we are in this forum??? hahaha) And before play with the Quad, I had a Dual Rec (220V)... maybe one day will buy a Recto pre, to recover part of that sound :p

And the word is transformer, or you can use tranny instead.

Transformer!!!!! Transformador in Portuguese...
Engl are great but they seem to lack the fullness of Mesa...
Diezel - just way more expensive!!!!
I'm trying to buy a mark V through a company of a friend who sells, buys and rents audio products (for big events - PAs for concerts and all kinds of shows), so i'm waiting to see what's the price we can get through the representative directly. The lowest I found on a store was 2400€...
