I did manage to do 1 Mark V clip while i had the amp. It's one of my favorite Boston songs, i think i missed a few of the harmonies but, oh well. V30 speaker was on the 57.

Thanks fellers. But that's IIC+ mode on channel 3, and the gain was most of the way up. I didn't scoop the EQ, even though i wasn't trying to copy the Boston tone i couldn't help but to try to use more mids than usual.

And a way to get close to Tom Scholz tone is to set the EQ to a BIG V, then use an EQ pedal in the loop and do the opposite, set it for a mid spike. You can get those hairy Stryper tones that way as well.

Wait a minute, that's not METAL, it needs more bass, tune it down to B#.

That was some of the best playing and tones that I have heard from the MkV, Good work Dan. :D :D :D

No OD pedal I assume? I cannot wait to see how my Fulltone works w/ it. Great playing and tone...

I tried an OCD v4 and it worked well in LP mode and used as a clean boost. I didn't really think it did anything for channel 3.

Thanks, but i used V30's and i realize now that i just can't stand these speakers. I liked H30's, 65's, or Greenbacks better.

Check out this clip by Gainfreak, the former owner of your IIC+. He sucks doesn't he! I simply MUST send Mike Fortin an amp to mod for me.

Wow. Your $2k+ amp setup sounds almost as good as my $250 Scholz Sustainer - until I toss the $150 Rockman EQ in the loop - then I think I've got you completely crushed. I did think your amp beats the piss out of the $100 Rockman x100 I have sitting on my desk as a paperweight though. Oops - just plugged it in direct to my console - nope. Rockman wins again. Now I remember why I liked these things so much.

Nice playing though.

More power to you as long as you like that nasal sounding Rockman tone. And try to play anything besides a Boston or Reo Speedwagon riffs and it's sound pretty lame.

But if you noticed you would have seen me mention that i don't own the Mark V anymore.
