I see a lot of posts where everyone wants to hear the Mark V with EL34's. Why is that? Just curious since I am relatively new to the MESA scene with the Mark V being the first MESA Amp that I'll own. I thought the 6L6's were the MESA Tone?

It's kind of like do you want a cheese burger or a hamburger?
Both are burgers and just a matter of taste.

There are just as many who well like 6V6's in it.

and el34's don't clog your arteries, last I heard... (**** that looks good)

So what if I want a Hamburger with Bacon, and No cheese? 5881's?

I was just curious if it was a Metallica/Petrucci thing or some other artist.

Well, since you have the IIC+ mode on here, dropping in 34's would get you a more authentic "Master of Puppets" tone most likely.

as long as we are on the topic of tubes.....
anyone have links that show the differences between the tubes? i.e same amp, cab, guitar, doesn't have to be a boogie just something that has consistent recordings with just the tubes changed out?
