-I do go into loop one to avoid the first dsp and I noticed improvement in base guitar tone/signal-just sounds better-is that what is referred to as 4 cable?

A lot of people spend a lot of time and extra money buying balanced cables, amp gizmos, etc. before realizing it might not be worth the trouble. It is far from a plug and play solution. Aside from these issues, it is like the debates about the Fractal Audio Axeffects unit; if you love tweaking, you will enjoy the endless frustration of the G-System. I applaud those that have gotten them to work, but if you are a tone purist or just like the simplicity of a pedalboard, stay clear of this thing.

You can get the Amp Wizard Mini and do all your midi channel switching on the Nova system and the amps' channels change with the patches you program - BUT they don't have the proper cable for the Mk5 yet. It is coming soon. This will eliminate the need for the Mk5 foot controller.

I have been playing around with my ModFactor and TimeFactor the last week in different config's with the MkV. The TimeFactor pretty much stays in the loop, but the ModFactor can be placed before the Amp, or in the loop, for different feels. I personally prefer it in the loop for right now, but depending what you are playing and how present you want the effect, placing it in front may be ideal.
I would suggest going with the Eventide Pedals over the Rack for a few reasons. I like the fact I can swap out positions for the effects in the chain from my guitar to the speakers. I also like being able to tweak 2 effects manually to balance say a Chorus and a Delay. Lastly, if I decide I don't want part of the system, I can sell it off and not feel like I wasted a large investment in a rack system for just one effect.
Those reasons are for me, you might have other stuff you want to take into account. The best feature of these foot pedals is they allow MIDI programming so when I get a floor controller (looking at Axxess) I can actually program channels in the Eventide pedals and assign them presets on the floorboard.

Also arent u bothered if, for say a preset in which you want both modulation and delay, you have to go through two AD/DA's instead of one?
And finally im not sure i understand what you mean when you say you like to tweak 2 effects manually to balance say a Chorus and a Delay? cant that be done with a rack effect like the eclipse?

I added a bit of modulation to the repeats and now I don't need a chorus since I was only using my chorus for slight tone coloring. Nova... highly reco'd.
