Greetings all,
As a 7 player, I wanted to get some perspective from other 7 players who also use the MkV. Tones, settings, findings, insights. Just for reference I use an Ibby 7620 with DiMarzios (switches between Blaze Custom, Liquifire & D Sonic).
I've noticed that I increase the tightness and percussiveness of the low B in Extreme for high gain and lead work. The presence is less influential on the sound, which I find a plus on heavier settings. On a 6, however, it doesn't sound as focused and I much prefer the MkIV settings for tight pick attack. Very strange, but it works.
Clean on channel 1 (dialed very clean) works real well for chord work, and keeps the low B chimey and resonant.
I'd really like to hear what some other 7 players think and what approaches you use.
Cheers!
