GREAT Clips man!

Question: What are your TS-9 settings? Are you using it more as a boost or adding some dirt?

I'm finding you don't really need pedals with the Mark IV in comparison to other amps, though it DOES seem picky about what pedals it likes on the front end.

All of the knobs on the TS9 are at 12noon 8)

BTW, the cab is a 1/2 back 2x12 loaded with Vintage 30's.

i have a ts-9 that i put on my rhy 2 channel to give more gain and chop.. Works so well. really turns it into a heavy rhy sound..

I played my first gig with my new bb preamp in front of my mark iv last night. WOW! It really adds 2 more channels. R1 with the bb on gives a nice tube overdrive and R2 with the bb on gets that more rock distortion and really wakes the channel up for leads! It allowed me to scoop the lead channel a little more for a moden heavy tone and get away with it. Awsome!

Yep... I use mine lately like this:

R1 - clean ( duh!)
R1 + BB - Pushed clean
R2 - Hard rock sound ( ie, "Barracuda")
R2 + BB - Marshally rhythm, fat clean lead tone
Lead (no eq) - set a bit hotter than the other channels for lead with solo boost. The natural midrangyness without the EQ cuts well.
Lead + EQ - Heavy rhythm. In addition to scooping, the EQ is also set to bring the volume on the lead channel in line with R1,R2.
Lead+BB - over the top forever sustaining lead, on the edge of out of control.

Mark IV + BB = 7 channel amplifier. :) If you don't punch the gain too much on the BB you can leave it on while switching channels nicely as well.

Do you turn the eq on for your other channells most of the time? The one thing I have not really been able to do is get a tone that works with the eq on and off. I have it on all the time.

Think this would work well with a DC-5? I have an SD-1 which I absolutely hate! Fuzzy nasty dist. even when off! Also, which would you recommend? Ibanez, or how about the BBE,w/true bypass?

Could you clarify what the BB preamp is?? I definitely use my EQ both on and off. I turn the EQ on for rhythm work on all channels and take it out and also switch from class A to simulclass for lead tones. The Class A/Simul switch adds some volume and mids so the leads cut nicely, IMO. I would be interested to know how you work the cabling with another preamp in the mix. I don't put anything in front of the Mark IV, ever! I run a G System through the loop and integrate a Keeley TS 808 and a Keeley Compressor into the G System loops. Nothing goes between my guitar and the Mark IV, except a Sennheiser ew100 G2 wireless.

I do like the tones that the TS808 brings out when I use it with Rhy 2. I don't add too much gain, maybe 12 O'clock, and tone is set the same, yet it really adds to the tone, I like

The bb preamp is a true bypass overdrive pedal made by xotic effects. Its beautiful thing!

BB Preamp is a pedal from Xotic effects. Good demo of what it can do with a lonestar here:
