If not, then the amp was obviously not in 100% working condition and the seller should be liable for some of the repair cost if not all. DOH! For some crazy reason, the other day when you linked the auction I had it in my head that it closed DEC 4th. My bad.

Either way, I am really curious to see what the issue is. My amp did the exact same thing and although it went away, I always have it in the back of my mind when I play it since it 'healed itself.'
 
Seller doesn't have the information to transfer warranty to my name but has offered to refund me all my money or pay for cost of repairs. I called Mesa back and they gave me contact information for a local repair center.
I am going to give them a call and see what it cost to repair the amp.

I got a hold of the repair shop and I am dropping the amp off tomorrow morning at 10am. The tech is quickly going to verify the problem I am describing and then it will probably be about a week before he can look at it more closely. Based on what I've told him he thinks it is probably something very simple. He also thinks there are two problems. One with the lead gain, which is in the preamp section, and another with only half of the power amp functioning. He sounds pretty confident so that makes me feel a lot better. He said I should have it back in about two weeks. I will keep posting updates.

Hey - not for nothing, but I thought of something. In the absence of a receipt - call Mesa with the SN. They have a database of manufacture of their amps dating back to the 90's. Since this is an 06 or 07, it would be impossible for it to be past the 5 year warranty, right? I am thinking about buying a Tremoverb from someone and called today with the SN and they were able to tell me it was made in May of 2001.

Just a thought.
 
I tried that but if I don't know the last name of the owner who registered the amp then they will not transfer the warranty even though it is a 06 or 07. I think they do that to so people who have stolen amps can't easily get the warranty transfered. I think also you must show them a bill of purchase from the owner. Thats what the tech told me when we were discussing my warranty issue.
 
Just got back from the repair shop. The tech played all three channels with the power amp at max volume and he immediately noticed a problem on all channels. I never played it on max volume so I couldn't tell anything was wrong with the other two, but he said since the problem is on all channels it has to be in the power section. He described it as something was choking up the power amp. He also said upon power up it should be completely silent, but there is noise coming from the speaker with no instrument connected. Which is exactly what I heard when I first powered it on the day I received it. He will contact me in about a week and let me know exactly what the problem is and repair cost.
 
My amp is finally fixed. The problem turned out to be the output transformer. There was no voltage on the secondary side of the transformer, so the power amp section was not working correctly. Once the tech replaced the OPT the lead channel began working correctly also. I will pick it up tomorrow after work. I am so excited to finally get to hear the true tone of a Mark IV!
 
After I got my amp back from the tech I was playing on the lead channel for about an hour or so and suddenly the gain dropped out again. WTF! I dropped it off again so hopefully this time he will actually fix it.
