my new band, recorded all rhythm tracks with a 89 / 95 les paul standard, 89 Mark III Blue Stripe and a 81' JCM 800. Ran into both at the same time, made for crushing tones. leads were all boogie with BB preamp and a PRS Hollowbody. to get these tones live, I now run my Boogies clean channel cranked with the volume cranked too, makes such a nice, deep crunch. lead channel lacks depth IMO compared to the clean after lots of experimenting during recording
