Hey guys!

A quick, dumb question for you...

Can I run a single, 4 Ohm 2x12 cab safely (two Emi GB12 8 Ohm'ers wired in parallel) with my Mark III using only one of the 4 Ohm outputs in the back?

I was thinking that the Mark III required a total of an 8 Ohm load to function properly... but I am not sure if this is right.

Yep. As Ed McMahon would say, "You are correct, sir!"
Some Boogie manuals have an appendix at the end with all sorts of speaker connection options. Try the Lone Star. They're available at the Mesa website.
You could run two 8 ohm cabs, one from each of the two 4 ohm jacks, because they're parallel.
Just don't go below 4 ohms, it wears out the power tubes faster and strains the OT.

Yes, you can run one four ohm cab. Do you have the manual?
Go here:

The Mark III manual is here and has info about speaker connections, what to expect, etc.
I think the Lonestar manual has some diagrams at the end of the manual showing different speaker cab hook-ups, and what miss-matches will work best. This info applies to any Mesa amp.
