Mark III lead channel mod

My mark III no stripe it quite bright in the lead channel, I want to tame it down a bit. I emailed tech support at Mesa and asked them to ask Mike B. for advice and suggestions of a mod that would tame it down and give it a thicker crunch. Here's what Mike suggested..

Add 500 or 1000 pico farad in parallel with 270k plate resistor at pin 6/ V3

Has anyone done this mod? Just looking for advice, and pictures of the actual mod would be very helpful.

I'm trying to do a search for C30 mod, but it won't pull anything up. I must be doing something wrong. Do I just type in C30 mod? Or do I need todo something differently?

I swapped a NOS RFT 12ax7 in V3 and accomplished just what you desire.
