Mark III green stripe... i think...

Hi to all... and Happy Christmas.
I'm the owner of a Mark III and i'd like to turn it in great condition.



How you can see from image my power switch is broken but i know
that is a CarlingTech Serie 800, 1 pole 6 ways and i hope i can order it
from a near reseller. Before the switch crashed all seems work good
but i think is time, and the opportunity, for a good revision.
My doubt is the version of the amplifier... how you can see from
image there is a blue short signature under the power cord but
is not present any dot.
The serial, printed under a 4 ohm out, is 19991 and based on some
post seems that of a red stripe.
I have taken other 2 pictures from bottom (sorry for bad quality) where
you can see again the sign and a /87.



It has a simul-class switch 100 Watt but is not modded.

Can you confirm that is a red stripe?
I'd like to start a revision to my bad boy... and i'd like to make it myself.
I have a decent manuality with electronics and soldering and I'd like
to receive all your suggestions.

What is the first check that you would do?

Why dont' you just remove the two screws and take off that red painted cover and just set it to the voltageyou will be using and then just leave it as is. Unless you are travelling around the world it doesn't seem like you need to do much to it. Check ebay and maybe you can find the knob for it for a few bucks.

There is a link around here somewhere that shows the serial numbers of all the different stripes. Just look through all the mark 3 pages you can find.

i also thought of connecting only 2 wires i use but i love to mantain the original aspect
if i can. And only a little doubt if it was a right procedure.

Check ebay and maybe you can find the knob for it for a few bucks.

Hey, what I meant was; it looks like it's just the tip of the knob that is broken off. So you shouldn't have to get into any wiring and I agree with you that it's probably best to keep it as original as possible.

Take the red cover off. Turn the knob all the way to the right or left and you should be able to feel it switch into each position. (I'm asuming having never touched one of these) Just count the moves from one far side. Then just leave it as is to play as you search for a new knob.

unfortunately the switch is completely broken but the knob is ok
You don't see the tip because i've unsoldered the switch from wires
and taken off from the back panel.

If i turn the tip i can't feel it switching between positions...
the switch swelled and is no more functional.
