Financial reasons dictate that I sell some of my gear. What would be the going price for an 81' Mark IIb 1x12 combo with EV speaker, no graphic eq or reverb. I am the original owner and I have the original paper work, schematic, footswitch, and cover. Its in a solid 8.5 condition and has new power tubes. I'm going to post on the local craigslist. Is $800 too much to ask?

Thanks

Without Rev and Eq, I'd say $800 is about the best you'll do. I'm assuming it's a tolex combo, which also will not help the price. A Simul would command a higher price, less for a 100/60, and less for a Super 60.

Has it had a cap job or other routine maintenance? A savvy buyer would bring that up.

Thanks for the info. I have not had the caps replaced and it is the standard blond tolex (not hardwood). I did have a bias pot installed by local tech Darren Riley and he indicated that I didn't need to replace the caps unless I started to hear degradation in the tone. So then what would be a more realistic price for my model in your opinion? I could use the money but I'm not desperate yet.
Thanks again.

What's the power tube configuration: Simul, 100/60, or 60?

Here's an auction for a black tolex 60 watt combo with Reverb and no Eq. He tried three times with no bids. First time was for $1,150; second auction for $950, and third auction for $800.

It's now listed at $700:

do the combos typically sell for less than heads ?
I think heads are generally preferred, but a fully-loaded wood/wicker combo in great shape with the right speaker could out-price a nice head with the same features.
