I can get amazing vintage Crunch and Modern gain sounds with my 59 Replica and Les Paul Custom, but has anyone gotten any good Strat settings as of yet? Thx!

I have noticed (an the manual does point this out) how big a difference the treble control makes on the channel 2 settings. The gain structure really changes as you roll the treble knob up. On the MkIIC+ mode, at 11 o'clock, the tone is dull and uninspiring. Turn the treble up to 1 o,clock, and the amp comes alive.

That's like every Mark series amp I've played. The treble control adds gain, harmonic content and gives the heavier tones a nice bite. It's crucial to the tone IMO.

The difference with these new Mark V's is it seems everyone is dialing the bass control higher than what would work with a IV, III or IIc+?? the bass adds too much flub above 3... so maybe they fixed that on these V's?? I havent played one yet and am looking forward a V.

Is it just me or anyone else uses the EQ in others positions than V mode...??

actually, I DO have a V-Setting as well, but it´s just a little cut in the mids for my heavy-rythm sounds and no boost in the highs/lows. For solo parts, i switch the eq off an the "normalled" mids are just enough to cut through the mix. As it´s a Little middy-sounding, I get a hell of controllable Feedback. Sounds more open with no EQ though

Haven't got a chance to play this with the band, but nice fat clean tone which is a great pedal platform. The IIc+ mode is unreal. Great harmonics, dials back really nice with guitar volume. Using the 5 band for a lead boost which sounds amazing on the LP neck pickup.

Here's my late night high gain crunch / lead settings
I leave Eq on all the time for channel two but can switch it for channel one depending on if I want classic rock crunch or "petrucci" crunch levels.

Hey guys!!

I just got my new mini Mark V three days ago and i have to say this amp is amazing. I have never played a better amp and the feel and sound is amazing either in high volume or at whisper levels. I cannot say enough good things to do this thing justice. I may be in the honeymoon phase, but I don't think it will ever end especially after my previous amp.

I was wondering if any of you guys had tried to recreate the MOP or the AJFA tones for the Mini Mark. I did some research and didn't find anything. Hope I didn't miss something but I only found settings for the big Mark V and I don't know if these can apply to the 25.

Thanks in advance!!

Just got my Five:25. I love it. It's insanely versatile. The videos that convinced me to buy it were the Petrucci Proto video, the Timmons video play through, and the Autonomist video. Those three promised that the 25 could do anything from jazz through metal. The amp delivers on those promises. Like many, I really love higher gain settings on the crunch mode, but that hamstrings your ability to use the sexy fat mode. I was messing around and I dialed in a nice warm clean tone on the IIC+ mode. It's pretty clean as shown in the pic, maybe just on the edge of breakup with hot pickups, and the two channels seem pretty balanced volume-wise, but bring down the guitar volume a little and the IIC+ mode cleans up even more. Sweet and fat with both my Ibanez RG652AHM and my Mayer Strat.

Edit: I should mention that the volume is pretty good for home use but won't be loud enough for live. At least not with a recto 1X12. Maybe I'll try it with one or both 2x12 recto cabs.

I guess i am the only one that runs the treble all the way up. i run extreme mode gain
Gain 1:00 Treble Dimed Mid 10:00 Bass 8:00 presence 11:00 with the classic v on the EQ.

You are not the only one, and my recommendation to others will be to try different, a change on the EQ can help you wonders to cut through a mix.

I'm not using it in V mode at all.
If you set it as a mid boost with all levels slightly above centre its actually a solo volume booster.
It works almost as good as the solo switch on the big Mark V

Hi, new V25 owner here. The amp is great, I play heavy stuff and with recto 2x12 it just kills and cuts through the mix perfectly. I've noticed (it's my 1st boogie) that the sound has the specific "boxy" characteristic compared to the other amp (Marshall DSL). I'm not saying it is bad (actually I like it casue it makes the riffs tight), just wonder if some you use some additional EQ if you want to make it a little more "bigger"?

I use the EQ often as a mid boost as opposed to the V setting. Kind of a slight reverse V can sound cool with some guitars. I also use it as just a simple volume boost as well ... all sliders up equally ...

New to the amp and forum. I am loving the amp. I used the eq more as a mid boost.

Just ordered my v 25 looks and sounds like a very cool amp, i play more classic rock, blues and also clean chimmey stuff . Not into heavy metal but i do like the recto tones. Hoping it will cover it . Can't wait to get it here.

Settings included in the vid. My first vid of V:25 with AT7 mod.

Another 'not-v shape' vote. 8)

Details? Just swap tube?

Just the AT7 in V2 socket instead of the AX7. Job done. No boosts, no other mods.

Also likely to work on the V:35 in the same position, as according to the manual they have the same config.
