I just got a Mark III combo (60W, eq, verb). It has an black + (or 'x' maybe) over MB's initials. serial is 162XX.

Question 1:
I have no footswitches with it. Will any footswitch work with it (the boss AB switch for instance) or do I need a special type of footswitch.

Question 2:
I am trying to find the right speaker setting and cab for it. I am currently using a 2005 Marshall 1960a 4x12 cab (w/Celestion G12-75). I am not sure it really is the type of cab I should be using. Please help me find the right cab (please, please, please). share your thoughts!

Thanks boogie experts,

Sounds like from the serial number you have a black stripe mkIII. These were the very first of the mkIII amps built. Some had only a small black dot or x or none. Then came the purple, red, blue and green stripes respectively. There are several threads with regards to the stripe legacy of mk III Boogies.
